Summary

Security and Administration 
Autocentral now provides a more flexible and comprehensive security and administration layer. Previously, only a System Administrator could perform administration tasks. This update now allows System Administrators to off-load access to capabilities to other users.

What are capabilities?:  Capabilities allow a user to perform certain tasks and functions within the administration section of Autocentral. These include but are not limited to;

  • Creating, viewing, editing, deleting users, vehicles, vehicle groups, etc.

  • Running reports

  • Booking Management - check out/in, vehicle transfer, adding passengers, etc.

Important Information:  Because security also applies to bookings, we will need to apply security to existing bookings. Security will be applied to all bookings with an end date after 1st January 2010. Any prior booking(s) that need to be accessed for editing/deleting etc. will require an authorised user apply security before any actions can be performed.

This does not apply to System Administrators, who have complete access to all parts of the Autocentral user interface regardless of what permissions have been set.

A comprehensive security guide is available under the Help menu. In addition, context-sensitive help is available in most sections of the Business Account Setup Centre.

  • User Profile -  new default fields.  Alternate User Email and Change User Email. These options can be used to pre-fill booking page fields.
  • Calendars now highlight the selected day and month.
  • Booking passengers can be assigned as additional drivers (if applicable, licence management rules will be applied when adding new passengers).
  • Vehicle Replace - select the date and time for when bookings should be deleted or transferred to the new vehicle.
  • Vehicle (new fields) - 1. First/Last Available Date and Time 2. Restrict Daily Hour Use From/To Date 3. Restrict Day Use.
  • Enhanced tooltips for calendars (known as the "Booking Assistant").
  • Select different colours for calendar booking, check out, check in blocks. Available from the Customisation section of the Business Account Setup Centre.
  • Reports  - Vehicle Usage (Advanced) output to CSV.
